Ryan and I both love this bedding, and plan to decorate Baby Boy's nursery around it... isn't it cute!?!

Camping and Belly Pic
This weekend us and some friends of ours went on a weekend camping trip. Now, anyone who knows me knows I don't care for camping... and I still don't.... but I did enjoy the company and the quality time I got to spend with Ry and my friends.
First off, a long overdue belly pic. It's been really popping out lately!

I Know, I Know
I know I stink at this whole baby posting thing. It's just that the past 2 weeks have been pretty busy and I keep forgetting to ask Ryan to take a picture of me and my belly! I will try to remember to post one soon.
Things are going well with the baby. I hit the halfway mark this weekend, yay! I have also felt and seen my stomach expanding, especially this week. It's all a bit surreal. I've felt some movement too, usually at the end of the day when I get into bed. Just some subtle moving around, nothing really obvious. I can't wait 'til I'm going about my business and am stopped by a definate kick.
In other news, we are going camping this weekend with some friends from church. I haven't been camping in several years. But more on that later...

Ryan's Mini Me
I just had to do some baby boy shopping yesterday while at the mall with some friends. My favorite boy clothes are at Dillards. They have Hurley and Quicksilver brand, which is what Ryan wears often. I was able to find these cute little shirts!! Who says shopping for boy isn't as much fun as shopping for girls?! (Besides, I do enough girl shopping myself ;) Just kidding. Anyways, here they are. Isn't our little guy gonna look just like his daddy?
(The big green shirt in the back is Ry's. I wanted to compare the baby's with one of Ry's actual Hurley shirts, but they're in the washer. O'Neill will have to do as a comparison :)

My Witty Husband
(This takes place at the doctor's office, minutes after we find out we're having a boy)
Danae: You're welcome for bearing you a son * smile *
Ryan: *laughs* Thank you
Danae: You know, if I were the Queen I would be really popular right now
Ryan: Yeah, I wouldn't have to have you beheaded

What A Girl Does On the Day She is Going to Find Out the Gender of Her Baby
10:45pm(the night before)-6:20am: sleep fitfully and have lots of dreams about the appointment going badly, being cancelled, changing buildings, or being cancelled altogether.
6:30am: Get out of bed uncharistically early and go to the bathroom. See ipod on counter. Listen to songs to distract yourself, dance around.
6:45am: Wake up husband by staring at him.
6:47am: Get out computer to keep distracted, roll eyes at yourself for being such a wreck for no good reason.
7:15am: Husband leaves for work early hoping he will get off early as well. Get caught up in a friend of a friend of a friend's blog.
8:30am: Find out your plan for the morning up until the appointment has been cancelled. Be slightly relieved cause you're really into this blog. Receive thoughtful, caring texts from friend and family conveying excitement and prayers..
8:51am: Receive email from husband saying, "can we get this shirt for our kid?" Smile at husband's participation in the excitement for the day.
9:22am: Promise yourself you will get up and into the shower by 10. Wonder, once more, if it's a boy or girl.

Baby Wednesday
Yes, I cut off my head on purpose. I didn't feel like fixing my hair :)
Things have been pretty quiet this week. Hopefully this is the last post that I will have to refer to the baby as "it". I"m really looking forward to being a little more proactive as far as preparing for the baby. Picking out colors, getting the nursery cleared out, things of that nature.
I'm not feeling any movement yet, darn it. At least not obvious, purposeful movement. A few times as I've laid down at night and pay close attention, I may feel "swooshing" or something like that, but it may be my imagination :0) So I'm not announcing it as movement until I know for sure.
I was telling someone a few weeks ago that as I was pressing my fingers into my stomach, I thought I felt little "pulsing" movements. Turns out I was pressing so hard I could feel my heartbeat in my fingers, haha. Over eager much?
So Monday is the big day, if I haven't mentioned. Monday night we're having a family get together and will announce the gender then, so all of you blog friends will have to wait 'til Tuesday! Please pray for a healthy baby... and that it will cooperate for the cameras - of course, if it's anything like it's mommy....

Baby Wednesday
Even when I was little, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. More than a princess, more than a movie star, more than a veteranarian, I wanted to be a mother. I used to cut the sleeves off of my shirts (much to my mother's annoyance :), and fashion little baby clothes that I would put on my dolls. I set up a "nursery" on one side of my closet, complete with a diaper bag, bottles, clothes, and accesories, and a baby that I would lay in a moses basket. These hours I spent pretending to be a mommy were the best, most joyful times. This afternoon, while sitting in a coffee shop with my dad, I realized, in a very real way, that my dream was coming true. God's purpose and plan for my life is being fashioned in my belly as we speak. How special! How exciting. I don't even care if it's a boy or girl, I just want to be it's mother. Can't wait!
In more specific baby news, I went to the doctor on Monday for my 16 week checkup. The nurse scared me because it took her a long time to find the heartbeat. Eventually she found it much lower than when she started. Either way, it was a very long 2 minutes!
I have an appointment scheduled to find out the gender on Monday, April 14th. A little less than 2 weeks away! I will be 18 weeks then. The doctor told me to be aware that there is a chance we may not see the gender if the baby isn't cooperating. Hmph. Haha, does that reveal my impatience? Anyway, if that's the case, we will just make an appointment again for 20 weeks. Hope it doesn't come to that then. You can pray for me that I have patience and trust God and His timing and plan. That's it for now... I have a few more things I want to post on that I hopefully get to in the next few days. 'Til then.....
