Insta-Friday

life rearranged

I guess I didn't really make an official announcement on here, but, we're pregnant! I'm 11 weeks now and we have a due date of November 5th. However, both of my boys were born 5 days past their due date so I'm really thinking we'll meet this baby on November 10th, haha. I'll do a separate pregnancy post soon.

I noticed the beginnings of a baby bump a few weeks ago around 9 1/2 weeks! 3rd kids don't mess around!

Last week I got to grocery shop all alone. I grabbed a Starbucks too. It was soo nice to take my time! I usually have my boys (or at least 1 of them) with me when I shop so this was a treat.

I hit up some garage sales with the boys and was able to start our game collection on the cheap! Candy Land was a hit with both boys, Owen loved Guess Who, but Sorry seemed a bit too complicated. We'll hold off on that one for a bit.

Owen initiated a big post-naptime snuggle with his brother.
D'awww

I'm all about quick and easy recipes lately since my energy level is, well, low. This recipe for chicken ranch tacos was a hit at our house. It's going on our rotation!

Speaking of quick and easy, I whipped up these 4 ingredient peanut butter cookies last weekend. They were really good!

Boy, parenting is not for the faint of heart. Yesterday the boys were bored and getting into trouble and I just knew I had to drop what I was doing and get us out of the house. We headed to the park for a bit and it was just what we needed. I captures this picture of Owen talking to a "big kid" in his adorable, shy way and was reminded what a sweet, precious, handsome kid he is.

Friday afternoon my "nephews" (Luke and Joel) came over. We had so much fun having snacks, playing with peanut butter play doh, splashing in the pool and having brownies during our Peter Pan movie night.

I got a cute ring in the mail today. There's this great shop I came across on Instagram (I'm NaeMaeLynn) called The Splendor Shop and sometimes she has these "Insta-sales" so I grabbed this beauty for $6 shipped. It's a great pop of color for my monochromatic wardrobe!

up next: more on baby #3

10 on 10 - April

Whoops! Did NOT mean to take such a long blogging break...

Oh well. I'll try harder!

ten on ten button

I really enjoy having the 10 on 10 posts to look back on so since Wednesday is usually a pretty relaxing day I knew I could remember to take pictures - and even then, I only got 9, ha!

My morning routine: breakfast and Bible

Jeans from this winter are already too short on Austin. Growth spurt much?

I always started my morning with hot coffee until I became pregnant - then I lost the taste for it. This morning I decided to try again. Nope, still can't hack it! LOVE iced coffee though!

Had the McPhats over for our weekly Wednesday play date. (Hint: you'll be seeing them again)

During lunch Austin was pushing grapes in to his pb&h. Silly.

Ahh, naptime. I close the blinds, catch up on blogs, did a little planning for Austin's birthday party, and watched Dan in Real Life. I tried to get a little cat nap in but a certain somebody didn't take a nap so I couldn't risk it. Coudn't afford to have a whole roll of toilet paper flushed down the toilet while I was snoozing (true story).

Played a little soccer outside with this one. He had been playing in the hose so he's nakey :)

We had the McFaddens over for dinner. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, had chips and dip, pineapple, watermelon, and ice cream. I called it our "Welcome to Spring" cookout. It was fun! Dinner time is always a little crazy though with 4 boys 4 and under!

Later that evening Ruth and I headed to our Zumba class! Woot! Still loving Zumba and have no desire to quit any time soon, baby bump or not!

Insta-Friday

life rearranged
Whew, taking a few weeks off of blogging always comes back to bite me. I have lots to catch up on and probably the longest Insta-Friday of all time. However, my absense is not without good reason. We bought a house and moved 4 days before Christmas, and then early January Ryan started the MBA program at ASU. He studies hard and often and I have just been worn out at the end of the day!

Here's what we've been up to lately, in no particular order:

I have had Christmas withdrawals. I do every year but this year was especially hard because with moving we didn't have nearly enough free time to enjoy the holidays as much as I'd like. I didn't put everything away until after the New Year.

Austin is full of personality. He's also quite a comic. You should hear some of the conversations we've had lately!

Me: "Austin, please say out of the kitchen. You may go play outside or in the play room, what would you like to do?"
Austin: "Ummmm..... APPLE JUICE!"
*Cue uproarious laughter.

This is my view folding laundry in our bedroom. They really are buddies.

We visited my family in Gilbert recently. It's awesome that my precious nephew Eli is only a few months younger than Austin. They've pretty much ignored each other until lately, now they're friends!

Since I have to deliver Owen to the inside of his preschool, I can't get away with wearing my pajamas to drop him off. A hat and hoodie is about as close as I can get to jammies on crazy mornings when we're running behind!

It was raining so we had an indoor picnic lunch.

Twinsies. (Both are in the SUPERHERO phase).

A large box. Enough said.

Whoever invented bath crayons was (is?) a genius. Owen asked me to draw Auntie Ruth and then he sprayed the crayon off with a toy. Fun times.

Family night at Chuck E. Cheese

I don't even have a caption for this.

We ran into some firemen at the grocery store and they invited Austin to sit in their truck. He also got stickers. He was in heaven!

Our walks lately consist of Owen riding Austin's 10" bike (instead of his perfectly good 16" bike) and Austin riding Owen's scooter. When you have boys just a little over a year and a half apart, everything is pretty much interchangeable.

I love getting dressed on Sundays. I get to wear my pretty things.

I babysat 3 sweet little girls last week. Austin took special interest in the baby, Kyra. He was SO sweet and gentle with her, it melted my heart. See his little arm around her?

We should really give him a baby to love on soon.

Some days ya gotta look cute, even if you're only babysitting and going to the grocery store.

Owen had a blast at a birthday party last weekend. This is the last picture I took before I ran out of storage space on my phone, haha.

I made home made salsa for the first time. It was easy, delicious, and I will definitely be making it again soon. Even better with Tostito's Cantina Thin & Crispy Chips. They tasted like Chili's chips. I got the recipe here

Bubs has a cough, fever and runny nose. He requested a smoothie and the closest I could get without dragging both boys to the store for ingredients was Dutch Brothers. They have yummy fruit smoothies. And I got a coffee. Win/Win.

Ryan's at school so I had a little movie night with the boys. Ice Age and chocolate chip cookies.

If you've made it this far, you deserve a medal!

10 on 10: December

ten on ten button

Actually, it's more like "5 on 10". I couldn't get my act together today and once I got going I forgot to take pictures! Oh well, something's better than nothing.

I call this my "shelf of death". It's where my warm, yummy cups of coffee go to die. I'll be sitting in my chair with coffee and something/someone will need my attention and I'll get up and set my coffee here, only to get distracted and find my cup there some time later, cold and yucky.

7am-ish

8ish
Picking out my outfit for the day. I like to have several outfits with accessories ready to go so busy school mornings I can just grab and go without thinking! Funny story though: I had picked this outfit to wear, but right before I got dressed Owen needed my, ahem, attention and it made us run late for school. I ended up throwing on my Mickey Mouse sweatshirt and jeans to drop him off at school, and changed into this outfit later. Ha!

Skipping hours 9-12, housework, picked Owen up from school, lunch at Chick fil A with Ruth, Luke & Joel.

1pm,
a mountain of laundry waits folding

3pm,
Owen up from nap rest time

4pm-ish
mail arrives with my new necklace from the Splendor Shop! She had a great Black Friday sale and I got this hand made baby for $11 shipped. I've been waiting not so patiently for it to arrive!

Follow all that with the gym, dinner and A Curious George Christmas movie, and that's my day! Hopefully I can do an actual 10 pictures with next month's 10 on 10!
