10 on 10 - February

One photo, every hour, for 10 hours

Whew! What a day. Fridays are the only day that we usually make no plans, just hang out around the house, run errands, catch up on housework. 

I let Owen play in the sink with his cars for a bit. He really had fun!

When I wasn't looking, Austin got into Ryan's hair putty/gel stuff and smeared it all over himself, the rug, etc. Lovely.

I decided we needed to get out of the house so we loaded up and headed to Target! Austy was very excited.

Austin loooved the small digital clock I bought for Owen (another post for another day) and Owen enjoyed the huge Cars coloring book I got. 

After I put the boys down for a nap I watched American Idol for a bit. 

But both boys decided that today was not a day for napping. Austin was continually climbing out of his crib so I kept getting up, disciplining him and putting him back down. Owen was fighting his nap too and between the two of them they were wearing me out! I texted my bff my frustrations and she showed up a bit later with this loot. Isn't she the best?? Thank you Ruth!!!!

I eventually let Owen get up. Look how tired he looks watching his show!

By the afternoon I needed a serious heart check so I spent some time in the Word while the boys ran around. 

Owen's buddies Luke and Joel came over while their parents went on a date. They were eating bananas but of course they had fun doing it together!

You Should See the Other Guy

We've had our fair share of injuries/ailments around here lately.

It's safe to say that our pediatrician is on speed dial. It all started a few weeks ago when Austin touched a burning glass fireplace- with both hands. The only way I could get his to stop screaming was to sit him in my lap and hold his hands in a bowl of cold water. He almost fell asleep like this!

The next week, Owen was diagnosed with croup, which he recovered remarkably quickly from, thank goodness.

Last week, sometime during nap time rest time Owen got gnarly rug burn in his forehead and nose. According to his enthusiastic reenactment, he fell off his dresser (!!!). It's healing quite nicely, the mark almost gone. It looked a lot worse than this picture around day 3. We mostly kept it bandaged during the day do he wouldn't scare the masses.

Somehow, through all of this, we have managed to stay out of the ER. I'm so grateful that God continues to protect my little ones, especially when I can't! But I wouldn't mind a break from the owies :)

Yay Yay Yay! My favorite creamer has arrived! It's Christmas in a cup :) And the peppermint seems to soothe the sore throat I wake up with every morning in the winter. 

At the pediatrician's for his 3 year well check

I need to take more pictures of Austin! He's constantly on the move (or napping) so he's hard to catch. But he'll be featured next week!

An October day

It was such a gorgeous day today! Finally, the temps went down enough for it to feel like fall!

I had my screen door open this morning. It was glorious.

We had our standing playdate with Ruth, baby Joel and Luke. The boys are such good friends and play so well together. Love.

I also love sitting out on the patio enjoying the cool weather while the boys run around! And you can't beat good company (and good music on Ruth's phone).

Austin and Joel are hitting it off big time. Austy is so sweet with him. Here he was tickling Joel's feet and giggling!

The weather surprised me in the afternoon - we got a thunderstorm!

Took the boys to Target after naps. Of course we have to stop by the toy displays. Owen loves these. Austin's not so sure.

Picked up a few little treats in the dollar section. A glittery pumpkin (how could I pass that up?) and glow necklaces.

Which kept the boys occupied for approximately 2.4 minutes while I was cooking dinner. 

New Phone!

Ryan is the best. He surprised me with an iPhone! That blogs! From my phone! So now I have no more excuses, do I?
