10 on 10

ten on ten button

It's been awhile since I've done a 10 on 10! Today was a nice, normal Tuesday so I was actually about to remember to take a picture every hour. Miracle!

7ish

Morning coffee. I'm loving Target's Buttery Caramel grounds with a hazelnut or sweet cream creamer. Mmmmmm

8ish

It was cool enough out this morning to leave my front door open for a bit. This "cool", overcast weather is so nice - although I'd bet by the weekend it'll be warm enough to swim again!

10ish

Grocery shopping + buying a few supplies for a nesting project I'm working on

That's my day in a nutshell!

10 on 10 - April

Whoops! Did NOT mean to take such a long blogging break...

Oh well. I'll try harder!

I really enjoy having the 10 on 10 posts to look back on so since Wednesday is usually a pretty relaxing day I knew I could remember to take pictures - and even then, I only got 9, ha!

My morning routine: breakfast and Bible

Jeans from this winter are already too short on Austin. Growth spurt much?

I always started my morning with hot coffee until I became pregnant - then I lost the taste for it. This morning I decided to try again. Nope, still can't hack it! LOVE iced coffee though!

Had the McPhats over for our weekly Wednesday play date. (Hint: you'll be seeing them again)

During lunch Austin was pushing grapes in to his pb&h. Silly.

Ahh, naptime. I close the blinds, catch up on blogs, did a little planning for Austin's birthday party, and watched Dan in Real Life. I tried to get a little cat nap in but a certain somebody didn't take a nap so I couldn't risk it. Coudn't afford to have a whole roll of toilet paper flushed down the toilet while I was snoozing (true story).

Played a little soccer outside with this one. He had been playing in the hose so he's nakey :)

We had the McFaddens over for dinner. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, had chips and dip, pineapple, watermelon, and ice cream. I called it our "Welcome to Spring" cookout. It was fun! Dinner time is always a little crazy though with 4 boys 4 and under!

Later that evening Ruth and I headed to our Zumba class! Woot! Still loving Zumba and have no desire to quit any time soon, baby bump or not!

10 on 10: December

ten on ten button

Actually, it's more like "5 on 10". I couldn't get my act together today and once I got going I forgot to take pictures! Oh well, something's better than nothing.

I call this my "shelf of death". It's where my warm, yummy cups of coffee go to die. I'll be sitting in my chair with coffee and something/someone will need my attention and I'll get up and set my coffee here, only to get distracted and find my cup there some time later, cold and yucky.

7am-ish

Picking out my outfit for the day. I like to have several outfits with accessories ready to go so busy school mornings I can just grab and go without thinking! Funny story though: I had picked this outfit to wear, but right before I got dressed Owen needed my, ahem, attention and it made us run late for school. I ended up throwing on my Mickey Mouse sweatshirt and jeans to drop him off at school, and changed into this outfit later. Ha!

Skipping hours 9-12, housework, picked Owen up from school, lunch at Chick fil A with Ruth, Luke & Joel.

1pm,
a mountain of laundry waits folding

3pm,
Owen up from nap rest time

4pm-ish
mail arrives with my new necklace from the Splendor Shop! She had a great Black Friday sale and I got this hand made baby for $11 shipped. I've been waiting not so patiently for it to arrive!

Follow all that with the gym, dinner and A Curious George Christmas movie, and that's my day! Hopefully I can do an actual 10 pictures with next month's 10 on 10!

10 on 10

ten on ten button small

I haven't done a "10 on 10" in a while. If you're not familiar with it, it's a fun project where, on the 10th day of the month, you take a photo for 10 consecutive hours. It's fun to find beauty in the ordinary things of life!

You're lucky today, because typically on Mondays I stay home and do housework/catch up from the weekend, so you would have seen 10 consecutive pictures of me doing laundry. Lame. But I had a hold at the library that they would charge me for if I didn't pick it up today, so I just swapped my typical Monday with my typical Tuesday and spent the day out and about!

6:36am. Breakfast for my early riser.

7:59 About to drop Owen off at preschool

8:26 A Starbucks date with Austin

9ish Building at the library

10:55 Quick stop at Trader Joe's

11:15 My view waiting to pick Owen up from school

Skipping 12 o'clock... crazy lunch time/putting the boys down for naps

1:30 Leftover cake calling my name.

2ish Just in case you think it's always roses and rainbows here... Owen woke up cranky today. Back to bed.

4:15 Dinner in the crock pot. (Stir fry veggies and turkey meatballs over brown rice)

5:30 Zumba with Ruth!

7pm Bath time to end the day.

I love having these 10 on 10's to look back on. To think "oh yeah, that was what a normal day looked like when the boys were 2 and 3", or "I forgot the boys took naps at the same time back then". I want to remember and document these regular days so I can look back and see God's faithfulness through every season of my life, through every ordinary day. I truly am grateful to be a mom to these boys and a wife to Ryan. It's my dream come true, and though I often want to bang my head against a wall because it can be so hard, there is so much joy.
